As a tribute to the original Land Rover Defender, the UK-based tuner Chelsea Truck Company has developed a special edition of the Ineos Grenadier, called “Heritage Remastered”.
Under its “Heritage Remastered” program, the tuner has reworked the Grenadier inside and out, giving it styling cues that deliberately echo past Defender special editions.
Exterior
The most obvious reference point is paint. As seen in the photo gallery below, one version features a wonderful green shade that mirrors the Grasmere Green applied to the limited 2015 Defender Heritage Edition.
The color complements the body with a gorgeous white roof and 20-inch alloy wheels. There are also the flared fenders as well as metal bumpers, which reinforce the retro theme all around.
Up front, the Grenadier receives a revised nose featuring a Lattice Mesh grille inspired by early Land Rovers from the 1940s. The reshaped front end hides additional LEDs behind the grille’s body-colored mesh and adds new headlight garnish. The overall effect feels intentionally vintage rather than subtly modern.
Chelsea Truck Company didn’t stop at just one interpretation. Alongside the green version highlighted by Afzal Kahn on Instagram, there’s a second Heritage Remastered Grenadier drawing inspiration from the 2008 Defender 110 SVX 60th Anniversary Edition.
That build uses the Fieldmaster Edition of the Grenadier Wagon as its base. This particular version comes with an Inky Black body wrap contrasting with a Volcanic Satin Silver treatment on the door hinges, bumpers, grille, and ultimately on the one-off wheels.
Interior
Inside the cabin, the Heritage Remastered Grenadier black example features a special leather upholstery called “Old English Tap.” Also, the seats are wrapped in perforated and quilted detailing, which provides the cabin a more luxurious feel compared to the standard model.
Complete Powertrain Information
Power upgrades weren’t enhanced, and both models use the same BMW-sourced straight-six 3.0-liter engine, with 282 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque. Power is sent to all wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
Pricing
In Kahn’s showroom, the Heritage Remastered Grenadier costs around £80,000, a bit more expensive than the standard Ineos Grenadier Station Wagon Fieldmaster Edition with £69,950.
Conclusion
For buyers who want their Grenadier to lean heavily into Defender nostalgia, the Chelsea Truck Company’s Heritage Remastered treatment makes its intentions unmistakable. The mechanical package remains untouched, but visually and inside, the SUV makes a clear statement about where its inspiration lies.
