It seems that Mercedes is heavily testing its new fleet of cars, and one of them seems to be the long-awaited CLE 63 Mythos seen in the spy shots provided by autoevolution.com.

The project has already appeared several times this year after an early teaser from Mercedes-AMG, yet recent track images offer a clearer read of what separates this version from the regular CLE range.

The body carries a large rear wing mounted on the trunk lid, and the rear section uses four square exhaust outlets. A revised diffuser sits lower, while the bumper adopts a different form from the standard coupe. Side skirts also change shape, which helps lower the visual line across the doors. From certain angles, the car feels closer to a modern interpretation of a focused AMG coupe than a normal series derivative.

The front section confirms more changes. A Panamericana grille sits between reshaped openings, while the lower apron uses a sharper profile and a larger intake area. The hood appears vented. Front fenders include a dedicated badge, visible even through the camouflage wrap. AMG wheels hide a revised braking package, with cross-drilled calipers fitted behind them.

Mechanical details still sit under unofficial status, though reports tied to the prototype point toward a new flat-plane crank V8. Engine size is listed at 4.0 liters, with twin turbocharging retained. Output is expected near 650 brake horsepower, equal to 659 metric horsepower and 485 kilowatts.

Those figures place the car far above the current 2026 Mercedes-AMG CLE 53. That model delivers 443 hp, listed as 449 ps and 330 kW, together with 413 pound-feet or 560 Nm from a 3.0L straight-six supported by forced induction and hybrid assistance. The Mythos coupe takes a different route and appears intended as a higher tier product inside the same body shell.

There is another clue around future use of this V8. The same engine family is expected to reach later flagship versions of the C-Class and the GLC.

Cabin details remain close to the regular CLE family. The source points toward shared core equipment, bucket seats, carbon fiber trim, exclusive upholstery, and extra detail work reserved for this edition. One rumor attached to the project suggests rear seats may disappear, though no final confirmation exists.

Production is expected at only 30 units. Mercedes-AMG has not attached a public price yet, though earlier reports suggest every build may find a buyer before the official debut because of the low volume attached to the Mythos badge.
