ABT Sportsline and Cupra have worked around the same automotive universe for years. One is a tuning and racing specialist from Kempten im Allgau, Germany. The other operates as Seat’s standalone performance brand from Spain. Their latest collaboration has now produced a new customization program aimed at two Cupra models.
The project carries the name Custom Cupra by ABT and was developed jointly by both companies. Cupra selected the Leon VZ TCR and the Cupra Formentor VZ5 as the starting point for the package. Assembly takes place at the Cupra Racing Factory, while the public debut occurred during the Cupra Performance Days at Austria’s Red Bull Ring.

The connection between the two brands stretches beyond a single project. ABT has spent 35 years modifying vehicles from Volkswagen Group brands such as Audi, Volkswagen, Skoda, and Seat. Cupra follows a much shorter timeline. The brand traces its roots to 1996 within Seat and has operated independently since 2018. The contrast is striking. Then again, both companies share strong links to the wider VW Group.
Sven Schuwirth, Executive Vice-President for Sales and Marketing at Cupra, described the package as a broad aerodynamic program covering more than flagship variants. He said: “This is a “comprehensive” aero design package that’s not only intended for the flagship models but also for all body styles and engine options. “The Custom Cupra by ABT pack marks the newest page of our collaboration and brings the character of our most extreme models to every customer, regardless of which powertrain they choose. It is about giving drivers the freedom to make their Cupra truly their own, with the meticulous craftsmanship of the Cupra Racing Factory behind every single component.”

For the Leon and Leon Sportstourer, the package reshapes several exterior areas. Buyers receive a front splitter, revised side skirts, winglets, C-flap moldings, a roof spoiler, and a redesigned rear diffuser section. A set of 19-inch Custom alloy wheels joins the package. Wider high-performance tires and Dark Chrome Cupra exterior logos complete the visual changes.
The Formentor receives a separate interpretation of the concept. ABT and Cupra fitted a revised front splitter, reshaped front air-curtain frames, fresh door moldings, a roof spoiler, and rear C-flap moldings. The crossover also rides on 19-inch Custom alloy wheels carrying exclusive ABT lettering. Dark Chrome Cupra badges appear here as well.

Cupra officially introduced the package during the fifth edition of the Cupra Performance Days, held from June 10 through June 13. Around 320 participants and roughly 40 Cupra vehicles attend the gathering, including the new Formentor VZ5 and the fully electric Raval. Customers interested in the new customization program will not need to wait long, as availability begins in July 2026.
