Bugatti has revealed another unique W16 Mistral, a roadster created through its Sur Mesure personalization division for a customer who is both a writer and a long-time Bugatti collector. Named “Le Retour du Jeune Prince,” the project draws inspiration from a literary work written by the owner and influenced by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s The Little Prince.
The roadster has roots back to October 2023, and conversations in Molsheim at the Bugatti headquarters. Upon meeting with Sure Mesure and Individualization manager, Jascha Straub, the customer talked about moods, themes and colors and eventually came up with a concept which focused on a prince returning to earth after having been to the moon. Those conversations contained the visual direction of the car, as well as the final name.
Architecturally, the concept is conceived by a unique combination of copper and bronze hues outside. The traditional horseshoe grille has been retained and the metallic finish creates a reflective look for the body. The theme is held together with small details. The Bugatti Macaron has a gold outline and the finish is in keeping with the copper brake calipers and the EB wheel emblems.

A closer look reveals another layer of personalization. Silver stars are embedded into the paint through a layered application process. There is also a hidden graphic inspired by both the owner’s book and Saint-Exupéry’s story. You do not see it immediately. The composition appears only when the air brake rises, presenting a reinterpretation of the famous encounter between the prince and the fox.
Inside, the color palette continues the narrative. Terre d’Or and Driftwood dominate the cabin. Terre d’Or extends across the door panels, where embroidered leather inserts depict the moon, while darker elements represent a star. Star-shaped motifs appear throughout the upholstery, and additional celestial details are integrated into the brown-carbon weave.

One detail draws attention faster than anything else. A silver rose sits inside the gear shifter. The piece originated from a 3D scan of a real flower sculpted in miniature form.
Unlike some bespoke projects, this one leaves the mechanical package untouched. The 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged W16 remains exactly as before, producing 1,578 horsepower, or 1,600 metric horsepower, alongside 1,180 pound-feet, or 1,600 Newton meters, of torque. The sprint from 0 to 60 mph, or 0 to 97 kph, takes 2.3 seconds. The quarter mile passes in 8.9 seconds, and top speed reaches 261 mph, or 420 kph.
Bugatti has not disclosed the price of this specific creation. The standard W16 Mistral carries a starting figure of $5 million before customization, and production of the model is limited to 99 units worldwide.
