2027 BMW 7 Series Render Tries to Bring Old-School Presence Back

BMW’s facelifted seventh-generation 7 Series already entered the unofficial rendering scene, though not in the direction many expected. Instead of another fantasy M7 proposal, one digital artist focused on reshaping the flagship sedan into something far louder visually. The project came from @ildar_project on Instagram and targets the latest version of the luxury sedan with a full aftermarket-style makeover.

Oddly enough, the result drew praise from someone who normally dislikes aggressive tuning work unless exotic machinery sits underneath. There is a reason for that reaction. The render keeps the factory proportions intact while pushing the styling into territory linked more closely with older tuner builds.

Up front, the kidney grille drops the horizontal treatment for tall vertical slats, bringing AMG Panamericana vibes into the discussion. The bumper differs from the production piece, too. Sharper surfaces appear around the intake area, while extra trim pieces sit near the center and outer sections. A splitter with blade elements joins additional DRLs underneath. Then the hood changes arrive. Four side vents cut into the panel, paired with carbon fiber inserts.

The reinterpretation continues along the sides. Fresh fender trim replaces the stock detailing, and the mirror caps receive a different look as well. Wider arches sit over new side skirts styled like something pulled from another era. Black BMW roundels replace the familiar blue accents front and rear, while multiple exterior pieces appear digitally shaped from carbon fiber. The body itself wears a brown-ish finish, matched with black wheels. The author admitted other wheel designs, especially Alpina-inspired sets, would suit the sedan better.

Things shift again at the rear. The taillights, criticized in factory form, blend into the design more naturally here thanks to surrounding changes. A thick ducktail spoiler stretches across the trunk area, and another roof-mounted extension reaches toward both sides of the rear glass. The bumper receives vertical reflectors instead of horizontal ones, plus a diffuser carrying blade elements similar to the front splitter. One detail escaped criticism, well, almost. The extra brake light would disappear from the build entirely if given the choice.

Despite all the praise directed toward the render, the production 7 Series still failed to win over the article’s author. The exterior styling drew criticism, though the interior took an even bigger hit. Complaints focused on the floating 17-inch central display, the 14.6-inch passenger screen, the steering wheel, the dashboard layout, and the wide lower windshield display.

The final takeaway lands somewhere in the middle. This rendered sedan earned admiration because BMW’s current flagship allegedly lost part of its identity during the push toward futuristic styling. Even so, the writer admitted one thing near the end. Owning this tuned interpretation still sounds more appealing than buying the current-generation 7 Series in factory form, before or after the facelift.
